How to Apply Car Pre-Wash

Applying your pre-wash car sprays and foams is ever so easy, with the solutions practically doing everything for you.

Mix your chosen pre-wash or foam with the desired amount of water.
Fill your foam lance or spray bottle with your chosen car pre-wash solution.
Attach the lance to your pressure washer, adjust the dial to a desired thickness and cover your entire car exterior, working from the top down.
Wait around 10 minutes for the pre-wash to settle and lift off the dirt, grime and accumulated contaminants.
Rinse thoroughly using a hose, or a pressure washer (on a low setting).

That’s it! After you’ve completed your pre-wash, you can then move on to more detailed cleaning by hand, using shampoos and exterior cleaning products like instant waxes, and finally providing a supreme finish when drying.

Differences Between Pre-Wash and Snow Foam

Not every pre-wash is in the form of a pre-wash car foam, but every foam is a car pre-wash. Still with us? In short, a pre-wash foam is a sub-category, but both types of solutions provide the same outstanding result – removing dirt build-up before conducting washes by hand.

Another difference between the two is how they are applied to the vehicle. The foam should be applied using a snow foam lance, while other pre-wash solutions can be mixed in a bucket or applied using a spray bottle for more focused, heavily contaminated areas. Snow foam is a thick blanket of foam which tackles tough dirt and grime by clinging onto the vehicle, while other car pre-wash solutions act more like a batch of soap and water or transparent liquid, and both effectively remove dirt, fingerprints, insects, mud, road tar and more.
